Diamonds: A Guide to Diamond Settings

There are a variety of ways to set stones. Here are the most common:

Pavé - multiple small stones are embedded in the mounting

Cluster - multiple stones mounted in a group

Tension - this is a pressure setting used to hold the stone between two opens ends

Prong - thin claws (usually four) are used to hold the stone in place

Bezel - diamond is surrounded by a thin metal strip

Channel - two continuous strips hold multiple diamonds on the inside
