Where to go: South Africa

South Africa is located on the southern tip of the continent of Africa and is bordered by both the Indian and Atlantic oceans. It is one of the world’s most diverse countries offering a combination of pristine beaches, majestic mountains, an abundance of wildlife and unparalleled landscape.

Climate:
South Africa experiences a warm and sunny climate throughout the year. Average temperatures range from 27 to 32 celsius in Cape Town during the summer months (which is North American winter months) to 22 to 25 celsius in the winter (which is our summer months). Winter, however, can be quite a bit cooler depending on where you are located within South Africa. In summer, however,It boasts some of the highest averages of daily sunshine (usually 8.5 hours).

The African currency is the Rand where 100 cents is equal to R1 (one rand). Credit cards such as Visa and Mastercard are widely accepted and you are able to

There are 11 official languages indigenous to South Africa of which English is one. You can expect people to speak it and understand it wherever you go.

Where to Go:
First time visitors will want to visit Johannesburg and Pretoria as well as Cape Town. Once you have had an opportunity to immerse yourself in the exotic cultures and foods of the region, you will want to head into the bush to hopefully see the Africa’s Big Five – elephant, lion, leopard, rhino and buffalo. To do this you can visit Kruger National Park which one of the world’s first conservation area or you may visit a private game reserve.
